Muniz

Vik Muniz is a photographer. His work is made from diamonds, dust, caviar, thread, wire, dirt, chocolate, and garbage, but he is a photographer. He shapes portraits from the materials listed above only to photograph them, then they're destroyed. Everything was done for the photograph and it only exists as a photograph. I like that. And his work is fucking sweet.

These are his Caviar Monsters

His Diamond Beauties

This is a portrait of an Army Soldier shaped by toy soldiers. The picture directly below is a detail.

He worked briefly in these landscape drawing photos. Still, very impressive.

Made from chocolate.

Sigmund Freud in chocolate.

A landscape made from piled thread.

The artist's self portrait made from magazine clippings.

New work, puzzle photographs of famous portraits.

These are Arno Minkkinen's self portraits, and they are awesome :)

Geppi's Entertainment Museum

Last week my Large Format Photography class went to Geppi's Entertainment Museum at Camden Yards. The place was amazing!! Geppi's is definitely one of Baltimore's best spots that little to nobody knows about. I fell in love immediately and snapped a few hundred digital images and these were my favorites. For more on Geppi's, visit their website as well as their Twitter.

Batgirl

Today for Large Format class we took a trip to the Geppi's Entertainment Museum at Camden Yards. It was AMAZING!! I took over 200 pics, so once I edit them down, I'll post a few. The one from above was probably my favorite thing in the whole place. Now I want to be Batgirl for Halloween and I'm trying to figure out how to throw a costume together by tomorrow... Wish me luck :)
