Carol Hummel

I came across this artist, Carol Hummel, while I was looking at the cozies on The Microwave.  She works in many fields: her website shows sculpture as well as prints and photographs, however I find myself most drawn to her sculpture work, especially her recent stuff.

Jumping in Art Museums!!!  This is by far one of the most fun blogs in existence and if you haven't already heard of it I'm sad for you :P  The deal is that you jump in front of any piece of art anywhere in the world and then send the picture of you jumping to this blog with the information about the piece and where you are and it goes on the blog.  Makes me happy :)

Merkels at the Mall

This little mini-series is the start of my junior seminar project for the semester on the Merkel family racing team.  With the Grandview season starting at the end of the month, there was a car show at the Coventry Mall this past weekend.  Sean Merkel, the older of the driving brothers, was racing in Hagerstown, MD, however Kyle Merkel's car was on display at the show.  Below are a few of the 150-some pictures I took while we were there.  None of these have been edited in any way, though I know they need to be.  I was just so excited that the project's finally underway that I had to share them.  

Next up I'll be visiting the guys in their shop and once the season starts I'll be working with them at the track as well.  Like I said, I'm just really excited for where this project can go.

Cleaning out the camera

I took these images walking through Bolton Hill a few weeks back.  They're by no means the best images; most of them are pretty generic for Bolton Hill, but they're just for fun anyway.  

 This building always makes me thing of Aiden's first color project for Jack's class.

Photographer of the Day

Christian Weaber is a photographer that I stumbled on randomly today and was instantly impressed by his work.  He's extremely well-rounded: his portfolio consists of figures as well as landscapes and architecture, black and white and color.  I'm more drawn to his figures but his landscapes are still really impressive.  The one above is my favorite.  Go to his website to see more of his stuff; he has galleries upon galleries of work.
